Your challenge

It is hard to become sustainable.

You know your organisation needs to change. Your stakeholders, customers, and maybe even the law are asking for this transition. An avalanche of questions might be running through your mind...How to start? How much is this going to cost? Am I going to lose clients and profit? What does sustainability mean?

What does sustainability mean?

What does this word mean to you, your employees/coworkers and your stakeholders? When is something greenwashing, and when is it not? A lack of a clear definition of sustainability can feel rudderless.

You don't know your impact.

How can you transition without knowing how your company affects the world around you? What is your impact on nature, resources and non-user communities? Without knowing this, you can not change how you create, sell and distribute your products and services.

Your sustainability mission doesn’t work.

You have a mission & vision that doesn’t work in your organisation. Sustainability is a management term. Your employees struggle to translate your purpose into their daily work.

You feel it is too complex.

There are many angles to sustainability. What to tackle first? You cannot change everything at the same time. How do you make your lifecycles circular, regenerative and ethical without losing clients and profit? Are you doing the right thing?

I know how you feel.

From having a mission not landing in your organisation to not understanding the impact of your actions, I felt the same. I experienced first-hand working with my clients how hard it is to create cultural change, to translate strategy into action. Becoming sustainable can feel like a struggle when you keep thinking linear and non-systemic because everything seems intertwined. There was one thing I forgot to do. This one thing changed my perspective on sustainability.

Going beyond human needs!

Let me explain you what I learned.

Our Strategy

Go beyond human needs.

Only if we design beyond human needs can we reduce our impact, give space to increase bio-diversity, reduce CO2 and work on new ways of growth and wellbeing.

Imagine a world where your organisation is genuinely sustainable and purposeful, with a positive role in the natural environment, society and economy. Become the sustainable leader in your industry and future-proof your business. Have your challenges defined and turn them into actionable strategies that work.

All this is possible with Life-Centered Design.

#1

Understand your ecosystem.

Mapping out the relationships with your ecosystem's natural and human elements clarifies who and what you are impacting. Stakeholders are just one part of your ecosystem. Directly or indirectly, your company's activities impact the natural environment, non-user communities, and individuals nearby and far away.

#2

Learn from nature.

When you realise your actions' effect on nature, you understand your impact on species, habitats and populations. Learning from nature brings you closer to it. Uncovering touch points with nature life creates opportunities to be more sustainable.

#3

Learn from non-users.

It is easy to forget the unintended effects of your actions on people or communities that are not using your products or services. Connecting to these non-users and learning from them through conversations uncovers touch points to be more social, inclusive and ethical.

#4

Know your use of resources.

Shift to high-quality, circular resources, which make your company more resilient and help you to find new customer groups and business models. All while reducing your footprint on the planet.

#5

Create a sustainable strategy.

Having a strategy that connects your sustainable mission and vision to actions of day-to-day work is the secret to change. Life-Centered Design goes beyond measuring your data on your ESG- score card. It gives you clarity over time about which action your employees can take to change the way they work and drive a sustainable culture that surpasses the 2030 SDG goals.
