Living the dream life...
Rural life is “living our dream life”, but as the famous motivational quote states “dreams don’t work unless you do”. Taking this big step involves extreme amounts of motivation, trust, positivity and an adventurous spirit. There are two sides to our rural living experience, the dreamy nature life and the being entrepreneurs running both an international design studio and a mountain bike guiding company (only in spring & autumn).
It’s the perfect combination to success! But without sugar coating anything, it has taken massive amounts of thinking, working, rethinking, redesigning, focus, refocus, effort, time and a tiny bit of stress (sarcasm) to reach where we are now with Unbeaten Studio.

We had totally different plans when we came here back in 2017. Creating a Co-living, hosting and facilitating redesign your life retreats, combining mountain biking and design and what not. Although we did host a few Re-design your life retreats it was not feasible for us at the time. We also did try to combine mountain biking and design in one, which was a complete mess and that was when: Unbeaten Studio and Unbeaten Adventures where born as separated identities.
After a day at the office, exploring nature with this little man gives us life!
The dreamy nature life only keeps getting better and better. We are about to be two years living in our current village and I can say, we have become a 20 people family. The elders bring the knowledge, history, stories about the land and life when they where young. The “new ones” (us and other international families) bring a breeze of fresh air to the town. Although locals can be a bit reserved at the begining, they become the warmest more friendly people to share conversations with. Open minds exist even in the most remote areas. It is a blessing that our son can grow up in an environment like this. We spend most of the day outside, exploring nature. He teaches us the magic of being present and admiring every detail. There is nothing better than exploring nature with him.
Dreams can be accomplished; you just have to work for them. Making dreams come true is scary, uncertain and exciting; behind these big feelings you will find fulfillment and joy. The perfect timing for doing a “big thing” with your life doesn’t exist. You have to create that perfect time by just doing it. Trust me…
